What we cover
Spare Corner is a small-business publication for owners and managers who host, or are thinking about hosting, vending and amusement machines: family entertainment centers, bowling alleys, gyms, bars, laundromats, hotels and other venues with a spare corner. We answer the host’s questions in plain English: what a machine pays the business, what to put in the contract, which rules land on the host (power, ADA, liability, tax) and how to pick and manage a vending company.
We treat your floor space as an asset with a price, and your time as scarce. Our two sections:
- Getting a Machine: What a machine is worth to your business, what commission to expect, which machines suit your floor and when owning beats hosting.
- Rules & Contracts: What a machine asks of your building and your paperwork: the vending company, the agreement, power, ADA, space, liability and tax.
- Locators by State: Who places machines in your state, what venues there are paid, and what the agreement commits you to before you sign it.
We do not cover how to start a vending business, an operator’s route management, machine reviews or get-rich schemes. If you run machines rather than host them, this publication is not written for you.
Who writes Spare Corner
